NewGuy/NeedSeats
Sup everybody, this is my first post i signed up for my sister who is the actual owner of the car (1999 SC1 i believe) and ill be stopping in from time to time.
ill post some pics when i get a sec but the car is in complete overhaul mode in my driveway right now, already rebuilt the engine with new pistons and replaced the clutch ect.. now we're working on the interior. we're replacing the carpet and headliner but we need a little help finding replacement seats.
so if anyone knows where i can find a full set of seats front and back any color good condish that will fit her 3door for a reasonable price please let me know, we live in the Houston TX area.
thanks for any help and we look forward to learning more here.

Did somebody steal the seats that were in the car when it was first sold, or are they simply "trashed" ??
Check with your local reulpolstering (sp?) shops in the area -- you may find they can rework that was you already have to a condition equal or better than new ....

we still have the original seats but the frame and rail is in bad shape not to mention the foam of the seat itself is pretty much garbage.. not just a quick upholstery fix. the entire thing just needs to be replaced
Your decision, obviously -- but whenever I've brought a project into my local shoppe, they pull the seat(s), strip 'em down to the frame, refurb the mechanicals, and rebuild from the frame up with new foam, materials, etc. Costs a bit, but usually cheaper than a rebuy from a dealer --
Wrecking yards are a source, that is true, but what you're buying still needs to be recovered, so need to think about total costs.....

Gotta agree with OceanArcher and that it ain't cheap and total costs include shipping from where ever if you can find them to buy and I forget about Greyhound as an option but there have been times when that works better than other methods. I have had more than one seat re-upholstered and plan on having two more interiors done on cars I am working on one of which has a unique interior option and hard to find material to do it with. I now have the material and it has taken awhile. Finding replacement seats was a long time project and I found two junk sets that I could make one functional set from to let the upholsterer go from there.
