Default How to check oil pressure 2002 SC 3 door

After 2 years just started my 2002 SC 3 door, 110K miles. There's an engine knock and before I bring this to my trusted mechanic to go over the whole car I want to be sure there is oil pressure. The oil light is not on - but I don't trust the sending unit is ok - not even sure where it is. Tried to research this but could not find specific directions for this car. Please let us all know the details, thanks!

Richpin has a YouTube video on this. He has a lot of videos on Saturns. Link below. The switch is on the back side of the engine to the right of the starter.

Silly question but did it have a knock before you parked it? Gotta ask...
Also did you change the oil before you started it up?

Thanks Derf......I saw that video before I started this thread. So, I suspect you remove the sending unit and attach a pressure gauge which raises a few questions. What size and thread is needed for the pressure gauge? and should I disconnect the coil so the engine doesn't start?

To answer your questions - don't remember if there was a knock prior and no I did not change the oil before starting after 2 years. Shame on me but I had no confidence the dang thing would actually start after replacing the ECM - but it did. I only let it run for a few minutes after starting because of the knock.
