Hi to everyone. This is my first post.I just purchased an 1999 sc2 with a blown motor. It's the dohc motor.Just wondering if a different year engine would work like a 2000 or 2001.Thanks for the help.

As a direct drop in, you'll need a 1999 DOHC engine. With slight modification and swapping of parts, you could use a 1993-2002.

Thanks low Saturn. One place i talked to that deals with saturn motors said swapping both intake and exhaust manifolds from the 99 to the newer engine was all that was needed to do the swap.Hope thats all it takes.

Saturndvr did swapping the intake and exhaust work for you? I''m in the opposite situation, 2001 and found a 1999 engine. From what I can tell thus far the intake is different on a 1999 from a 2001, but am not sure the bolt pattern is different. Any insight you can give me after going through your situation would be greatly appreciated.
