hey guys i am new to this forum. a little about me. i drive a 1990 ford mustang lx 5.0 that i love and i am a college student. now on to the problem! my girlfriend has a 20022c2 with a little problem that i just can't figure out. the car constantly thinks that the trunk is open when it isn't. so sometimes when we are in the house we can hear the alarm honking and we have to go out and press the button on the little remote thing. but it happens over and over. has anyone else had this problem?

All I can think of is see if the little button that the trunk door pushes down is tightened down to the frame (or the lid depending on location)... If its loose, it won't recognize that the trunk is closed. I have that problem with my truck's driver-side door.

How do you know that the car thinks the trunk is open?

Sounds like simple contact switch closure or switch wiring problem (may have lost a ground such that the switch circuit never gets completed). However, usually the alarm system won't arm if there is an open contact....

The door jamb switches sometimes go bad and do the same thing --it is easy to tell at night, though, b/c the dome light is on and you know you turned it off....

I WIN! lol

Just replace the switch or rig it so it never thinks it's open (but you lose your light that way). It's probably not a wiring issue because the light usually runs it's power off the line that leads to the controller.
