I have a 97 SC2 that was the doner car's engine for my 98 SC2 engine swap. Now I am going to salvage as much as I can from the 97. That said how does one go about removing the large rear window without breaking it?
I removed mine by ramming my mailbox through the middle of it while backing up.
I assume you want a less destructive approach.
I'm watching it be replaced, I think it's just a matter of the trim and the seal across the top. It's important to salvage the original factory glass trim/gasket that came with the window when it was manufactured. This will make it much easier to seal when it is reinstalled somewhere. May or may not be possible. Far from my area of expertise so I'll shut up now

Hey Derf
lol...i did something similar to a 1966 Pontiac years ago and since it was just a beater work car it was replaced with 6mil vinyl sheeting and Duct Tape! Since I am stripping as much good stuff as possible (Windshield was already toast) and after i remove the rear side glass I may just use a cutoff wheel and Sawsall to cut the top and and perimeter metal out with the glass, trim and gasket in place and undisturbed. I have replaced removed and installed windshields in my past life so will give it a good look see and decide which route to take.
