Default 1996 SC2 manual at auction today in LA

A 1996 SC2 in great shape is at an auction this afternoon in LA, it will probably goes for less than a $1000 (since it owes around $1000 to DMV). No rust, California with 120K miles. What do you think, is it worth to save it ? Maybe for parts ?

Pretty hard to find parts for the first gen series coupes these days.

Don't know what the surcharge is for used cars in California versus used cars everywhere else, but unless you see and hear it run I would not drop 2k on it.

If you purchase it and it doesn't run I'll consider taking it off your hands as a superb parts car.

Like derf said. If it runs and drives, hell yeah, it's worth it. If not, grab it for him for parts. He's sincere when he says he'd take it off your hands.

Runs and drives? Not likely. Those tools on the hood are to get into the car without a key.

I meant if he buys it and he is unhappy with it, I would consider buying it from him as a parts car. In no way did I mean for him to spend money purchasing something for a guy he's never met nor discussed it with. But I think you for your enthusiasm, Rube.

That's what that is in the hood! If it doesn't run, why bother locking it? Unless so people don't steal parts off and while looking at it.
