While driving my fiance's car I was going around a corner and the car died. It will no longer turn over, but it will click when turning the key. We have tried jumping it and once almost got a start; but then noticed black smoke coming from the engine compartment.


Has anyone else experienced this? If anyone has any insight or might be able to help us at all, we would really appreciate it!

when you try jumping it does it try and turn over or is it basically the same as not jumping at all. Is the oil level ok? And probably a stupid question, but does the car have gas in it?

 

If it wasnt for the mention of the black smoke in the engine compartments, I'd say that it could be a bad battery connection. Its a common problem at the positive post of the battery.

But tha black smoke thing is kinda odd.
