The "Service Engine Soon" lite came on and I had the local guys take a look at it. They said they adjusted the "fast or high" idle. It didn't correct the problem and now the car idles above 2K for a while when it first starts up. Is this something thatcan be tweaked back down? And if so, where would I tweak?

how does it idle once it warms up. Because a car is supposed to idle higher when cold. It done so that the engine warms up faster

 

check the intake manifold gasket for a vacuum leak. spray carb cleaner around cyl 1. if idle changes there's your problem.
