Junk yard galore.
Through your paint code.
Well. I'll keep an eye out for first/second gens. Get a list of parts together to hoard.
6k for a paint job? Dayum. Screw that. I'll turn my bathroom into a paint booth and do a panel at a time when it comes to my 03.

That is way too obvious. I don't know why you would say something like that.
DUH. Thank you.
Do you have painting equipment? I've never done that before. This car will need to be sanded down to the primer. At least I believe so because the surface paint is crazed and cracked along the tops of the quarter panels and a good part of the hood. Some of it is already missing. The rest of it you can still see the reflection of your face and clouds in the sky.
What do I know about painting. Zilch

Bump. Only working 1 saturday this month since were slowing down.
I will be free on the weekends again.
Plus, got a free 08 aveo with a questionable engine.
Can I rebuild the engine/swap the engine for the cost of time and labor? hint hint

The more important question is why would you want to?
I hope someone wrecks a first gen SC2 soon. I need those damn headlight doors.
Should I buy cheap brand new headlight motors while I can or pay twice as much for NOS from GM parts Giant?
Also, it seems that if I don't drive the car for a while, as soon as the key gets to accessory The wipers turn on and ignore The fact that they are off. They do obey the settings except for off. The one thing that turns them off and makes them act completely normal is to push down to trigger a single sleep. Then everything is fine. Corrosion on contacts, multifunction switch, wiper control module? What do you think guys?

I would get a set of each. If oem lasted this long, be good to have an extra set. Then a back up for the back up to be safe.
As far as the aveo goes. Do I want to save it? No. Do I really have the time? No.
I can sell the converter for around 120. I can junk the body for about 200.
Or, I can put 4-500 into it, and have a solid car worth around 2k. That I paid nothing for. The cheapest one I saw locally was 2200 that had like 200k miles and okayish shape.
This one is a pile of crap. With around 200k on it. A few trips to the junk yard, I can probably have a less crappy car.
Dont forget they get like 40mpg. And people are complaining about gas prices right now. And will be for a while.
On another note. I have a buddy that wants it. Offered me his 03 SVT focus for it. If I can get it running. Same buddy I am buying all those LSJ parts off of for the silver car sunday. 5 speed supercharged focus that runs and drives, but needs some work. That would be a fun daily for a little bit while I clean it up to resell.
