If I had some money, I'd come get it, derf. Your nephew needs a good ass kicking for letting a car that was given to him just go to crap. Kids nowadays got no respect.

This kid is 5 years younger than me, works graveyard shift to support 4 boys, one of whom was just legally adopted due to substance abuse issues within the family.
So I understand he has no time. Ironically he kept it because he knew the sentimental value to me. I'm going down there tomorrow to un flat spot the tires and get rid of the rodent living by the blower motor -- and all the nesting ****.

I may tackle retiming it myself if for no other reason than the experience. Just no room to work on that unless you hike up the engine. I have a support bar but no helper/teacher anymore as my brother n law who has taught me so much just cannot handle the physical side of it anymore. He's 70 and I respect him. It's not worth getting injured over or hurting for a week for a 23 year old car.

Richpin on youtube is very good with the Saturns, derf. Sorry to hear that your BIL can't help anymore, but I get that. Have a safe trip, man.

Thanks.

Sorry for the threadjack -- not my intent

Safe travels!

NEver went.

White car visited last night. Most of the flat spots have been driven out of the tires but I fear some are permanent.
Pulled the blower motor last night to remove a rodent's nest.
I love working upside down under the dash. No room to maneuver both arms at once. Lots of fun, but done.

Thank the you know who for Sta-bil. I should replace the bone dead battery before I fry the alt.
We'll see.

I may ret ime it in my garage w out a lift. We'll see when it gets warm. Good reason to acquire an inexpensive but sturdy hoist.

THen again it seems to accelerate pretty peppy but I am concerned that an exhaust valve will get burned soon (exhaust cam out of time, assume delayed in opening valves)

Sorry -- kind of off topic - sort of -- but an example of whether to put time and money into extending the life of the vehicle or selling as is. End of threadjack -- sory

No worries, I enjoy reading the threads. :-)

I had one like it, got 7 good years from it. It had done its job well and I was happy so I gave it to my nephew who played chicken with it and finished, destroyed it.
