What are must sees at the Grand canyon?
I'm traveling there soon with my wife.
I cannot handle a helicopter unfortunately but she can.

Are there certain areas IE South rim, certain trails etc?

Can I actually drive a vehicle along the outer road or do they just drive me around?

Clearly I know nothing about it.

We are staying in Sedona Arizona and will have a good 3 days to check out the canyon.

All ideas welcome. Thank you

However you wind up touring the Grand Canyon, derf, please post some photos here. I've never been and will most likely never get that opportunity. Pics would be greatly appreciated.

I have been several times. I remember a trip in my youth with our trailer one Thanksgiving. My mother cooked a small turkey in the oven while my father towed the trailer. They tied the oven door shut. Probably was 1968. My father parked the trailer in the campground and we woke up to a few inches of snow. This was a real treat for Southern California kids, my sister and I had a blast.

We always went to the South rim when we went there. Last time we were there we drove out the East entrance and went up into Utah. Zion and Brice are both beautiful Parks. You may hit some weather this time of year due to elevation.

Safe travels!

If you are able, can you hike to the bottom? You WILL need reservations, probably WELL in advance, and pay for the air-conditioned cabin and meals down there. They need to know how much food / drink to bring in and out to the "chow hall" practically on a daily basis. I hiked down with my family in the late 1970s, when I was about 12 years old. Please note, though, it can be 112F (45C) down there, but it is very scenic. If you only wish to hike down the path a couple of miles, and hike back, you can do that too. But stay hydrated. EDIT: Yes, I'm sure they have the electrical capacity to re-charge cell phones and devices. Though calling out might not work well.
