Having had two red vehicles, it definitely makes the cops notice more... I got two speeding tickets(no points though) in my first truck... None in the silver car I had later, or the black Redline I own now...

However, it seems that white or clear paint would actually be fastest. They have fewer pigments in them and would, in theory, be a few micrograms lighter per cubic centimeter...

Is white necessarily the absence of all pigment in the paint? I do not concur. .Actually, even the pigments used to create the different shades of white have different densities so the calc gets thrown off by that.

I would say the fastest car, all other things identical is the one whose avg paint pigment density is the lowest.

Well I guess the silver cars fly under the radar. I was driving in Nevada over the weekend in my silver Navigator at above 80 mph, and the cop coming the other way was only concerned that I didn't have my headlights on. Lol

Isn't the speed limit like 70/75 out there anyway?
I guess he wanted to make sure you were speeding safely.
Only the criminals with cars loaded to the hilt with illicit goods drive near the speed limit while doing something idiotic to attract the attention of a cop who pulls them over for wreckless driving and finds 7 Kg under the spare

Here, it seems to depend on how badly you're speeding, and how nice the weather is... And mostly only matters on the interstate... Literally, in a torrential downpour, I was in the Taurus(tan in color) and passed a cop while going slightly over 90, to which I got no response... Who wants to get out of their car in a 45 degree monsoon and write some poor shmuck a ticket, right?

The last day I owned the Taurus(the day before I got my IRL), I got busted at 82mph, on a clear, sunny, 61 degree afternoon...

Thankfully, I haven't been caught playing on my road... How could I possibly explain 120 in a 45?

You could always claim you got a part from Toyota and the accelerator pedal stuck!

120 in a 45? I hope that's a good stretch of semi straight pavement with no blind curves or stop signs.

I've gotten each of my SC2s up over 105 ish after fresh tires, balancing and alignment, but air gets under the nose and they start to walk and it becomes even more unsafe than it inherently already is.

Believe it or not, that was before the redline(remember my old Suzuki?). And yeah, It's a long-ish straight with a kink in the middle... It's semi blind, but I did all my playing at night, so I can see headlights... That was taking the run-up corner at like 65, and then holding out until you absolutely have to brake for the next corner(that car, with its 120hp, was pretty slow above about 90)...The braking area is a little bumpy, so it was a little sketchy braking from 120 to about 65 to take the next corner... I only hit 120 once in that car, and I have developed the habit of shutting down at 100 in the redline...

ummm "good habit" (?) What's a dude to say? Don'r worry, as you get older, unless you get involved in NHRA Drag Racing, you'll find your top tooling around speed will drop as your back discovers the benefits of tires w sidewalls 1 grade less stiff than your stock tires on your sporty ride....unless it's a 380Z in which case.......used to borrow a neighbor's 360Z when they were out of town; 60-120 was a blast........
