So, progress was made on this front- the anti inflammatory regimen is working(or something is happening)...I take 400mg of ibuprofen every 4-6 hours, with 600mg as a bedtime dose, and today, for three hours of the day(not all day but still) I was 100% pain free! And, the other times, it never got worse than a 5/10... I plan to continue until a doctor diagnoses the issue or instructs me otherwise...

If you have an ice pack, use it. Ice will calm nerves that are flared. If ice doesn't help, then it's probably not nerve related. Try moist heat. If that helps, it's muscle related. One or the other should help along with the anti-inflammatories you're taking.

great to hear!

Sounds like you must have a very very irritated nerve(s) somewhere.
Still critical to get it diagnosed ASAP but we've been thru that so we need not revisit

Glad some parts of life are a bit less painful for you now....

Yeah, you don't know how 1. Great and 2. Embarrassing it felt to know that Ibuprofen was actually killing what is seriously the worst pain I've ever had to endure... Even if the pain never gets any better than today was, I could live with it...

Oddly enough, my foot still was numb for the first five hours or so... Maybe a separate issue?

when you're dealing with nerves and pain receptors, fractions of an inch matter. The tiniest bit of inflammation or pinching can cause chaos and wicked pain.

So you've probably learned something else new to tell the doc; the foot numbness may be related to the same nerve or a different one.

Keep dosing.

Sciatic nerve runs from your low back all the way to your toes, man.

I would just see a different doctor...quit putting it off. I would definitely start taking some ibuprofen until you can get in
