Default Is SaturnFans.com down?

Anyone know if Saturnfans forums is down? No matter the device or browser I use, no matter what link I click, I just get a download popup instead of being directed to the site. I've tried Firefox, Google and Edge (the latter two having no addons). It also does it on my iPhone with Firefox, Google and Safari.

Any ideas?

Yes it is unfortunate. When I tried viewing threads last week, I got a error that said "This account has been suspended. Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible." And that doesn't look good.
It will let me download the thread but I do not have anything that can view a .php file.
The website does seam to have a history of going on and off from what I heard.

We just had a shutdown to get rid of scambots about a week ago, but I've never seen the site do this before. Was just curious as I was going to reply to someone on my thread that doesn't believe that I replaced the trunk light in my SL1 with an LED without splicing. Darn.

Ummm,

Refugee status?
I wasn't aware saturnfans was a country.

If the site had an SSL certificate and some basic authentication software running on the server, it wouldn't be overrun with spam bots. That problem was solved a decade ago.

The absence of those two things leads me to believe that the hosting was configured to minimize cost. Free to do so.

Bit why fight last decade's issues?

Hope the site was backed up.........,.

And yes I will miss it as much as you

The site would get overrun with spam bots every few months and we could expect a shutdown for about a week, then rinse and repeat. Most of the spam was either German in origin (or at least someone pretending to be German, lots of German dialect) or they would necro old threads by saying something like "yeah, I had this same problem. Speaking of that problem, you should check out this site that has absolutely nothing to do with what this three year old post was talking about".

The Icon is different as well, a green box with the letters "NS". I got this by refreshing a saturnfans page that had previously been working. It stands for "network solutions", and it loaded as that at some point instead of downloading a file like it normally does. It has the website name near the top, next to "network solutions", and a menu with 5 boxes: "saturn", "best temperature sensors", "moon and stars", "mercury", and "chrysler financial". I do not know what to make of it.

Yeah, it's still doing the same "download" thing that it has been, but a few days ago it was directing to a "this site no longer exists" kind of page, but the message said the page was under construction. Not quite sure what to make of it. Maybe the host decided to close down.

Hmm,

A "this site no longer exists" page....
but it says "page under construction"......

so it's NOT a this site no longer exists" page....
please keep posts factual. many people don't read all the

The domain name at the top is to show people who know how to get to it what it is.

The other links are advertising links that search bots can follow for $$ while waiting for someone to develop the site again.
Saturn, Moon and stars and mercury are space related.
Temperature sensors is a car related thing.

Anyone dopey enough to actually purchase a Chrysler vehicle AND get financing for it will most definitely come to a dead gm related website seeking financial help.
