New Wiper Blades
I gotta tell one on myself. On New Years day, I went to Walmart and it was raining. I was in the 200 and since the blades on it were original, and streaking, I figured I'd get some new blades while I was there. I bought some RainX Latitudes and installed them in the parking lot. It had stopped raining so I didn't check the operation. On the way home, it started raining and I used them and was very disappointed. They didn't work as well as the old Mopar blades! Streaked reallly bad. I got home and it was pouring, so didn't fool with them. Then on the 3rd, I had to take my daughter to an appointment 45 miles away. It started raining on the way and I put up with the streaky blades. On the way home, I told her I was going to stop and clean the blades off and she could go inside the store where I stopped and get us both a bottle of water. I grabbed a paper towel, ran it along the blade and much to my surprise, a plastic cover slid off the rubber! Man, did I feel like an idiot. LOL Anyway, I thought this was something that might give you guys a laugh and hope you don't mind me posting it. Oh, BTW, the new Latitudes now work great! No streaking or skipping at all, just a nice clear windshield.
Plastik Fantastik
I prefer Bosch Evolutions. They are overpriced, but the lower priced ones just don't seem to cut it.
I use original formula Rain-X religiously on all my vehicles. Even so, the Anco and such blades only seem to last about 3 months before streaking. One could argue the rain x is also coming off at the same time -- but the Bosch wipers are good for at least a year......if you wipe the road grime off them when you fill up

Rube, that sounds like something I'd do...
I don't buy the cheapest wiper blades, but won't spend a bunch either. Never found a favorite brand, so long as they stay on the arm and clear the windshield I'm good.

It do not matter what wiper blades you buy out here in the desert. They all dry rot before you need them. Same with car batteries, they last an average of 18 months before they are fried like eggs on the sidewalk. I didn't believe the stories my brother told me when I moved out here. Then I woke up to a dead Interstate Battery. A battery that was 16 months old, and the biggest, bestest battery Interstate sold. My brother told me to buy an OPTIMA battery or better yet mount my battery in the trunk using 00 guage welders cables. I didn't listen and had to get another battery like 19 months later. That was in 2006 and the factory battery he mounted in the trunk of his 2001 Saturn SL2 was still going strong. Not long after that he bought a fleet of 2007 Saturn ION's. His, hers, Patrick's, Kelly's, Emily's, and one that he still has in storage. I bought a 2006 Charger cause I'm a bad ***, and need a big V/8 to drive 6 miles to work. Well that lasted till the Charger broke down for the last time they no longer made the ION. I have my QuadCoupe and could not be more pleased.....Still the wiper blades rot off, and like my big brother told me. I keep a new set in my chest of drawers and keep an eye on the forecast. That Son of a Mick is ready for any, and everything.....must be the MARINE in him.

Glad I am around, I don't know why I haven't thought of keeping an extra set stashed away.
Not sure how it is in AZ, but over here the weather is bipolar. We can have a straight sunny forecast, with predicted beautiful weather, but there will be a random shower in there.
You guys may not believe this because I didn't until I saw it with my own eyes, but theres times it will rain on one side of the street and not the other. Its insane.

That raining on one side and not the other is very common around here, Billy. It's like there's a frigging curtain or something blocking it off! Most of the time in the summer, my yard is the one that doesn't get the rain. LOL
I always keep my last set (that I just replaced) in the trunk of all my cars in case one of the blades tears, especially in the winter if you're in too much of a rush and it's iced to the window or caked w ice and you try to pick it off by hand.
They've already been cooked from being on the car so cooking in the trunk so cooking some more is preferable to shortening the life of a brand new pair in the trunk.
_______
18 months? Is the warranty the same as the rest of the country --like if you buy a 72 mo battery and it dies in 18 do you get a prorated discount on the replacement? Or is the warranty shortened?

We bought a '94 GMC Safari (DH's ride) a few years ago. In 2014, the battery went deader-n-a-hammer. i took it in to AutoZone to get it replaced and just out of curiosity asked how old it was. The battery was from 2001. FTR, the van only has around 170K on it now, and we're the 3rd owners. 2nd owners bought it in '96 or '97 at @ 70K and traded it 82K later in 2011 when we bought it.
