They might make for good winter beaters

 

Be nice the Astra is a nice little car that was over priced, under powered that gets no better gas mileage then a 2.2L ION it replaces, runs a full second slower in the 1/4 mile. Comes no where close to the old S-Cars in fuel mileage or HP to weight.

 

which is why i still drive 2 SC2's

 

ION and S cars are both good rigs that deliver hp to weight over the astra and fuel mileage as good and better.

 

Well I had what ......... ten S-cars over the years. I have to say I like my ION-3's better coupled with the 2.4L VVT that came with the enhanced performance package. My Daughter and Son-in-law have a 2.4L ION and the ASTRA. The only reason they bought the ASTRA was I was able to get all the discounts on top of my employee discount. Payed less then half of the sticker for the new 2008 XR5 manual. Now they fight over who is gets to drive the ION.
