Mistakes that are dangerous
Do not make the same mistake that I made today! I have preached to many of my friends not to move cars with one foot outside or even worse what I did today! I had serviced my Lincoln up on a couple wood ramps that I had made. Next I pulled the Saturn in and changed the oil. Then in my infinite wisdom I decided to charge the AC. I had left the car in first gear with the parking brake on. I evacuated the system and checked the bleed down and all looked OK. I charged the system to the 40 lbs in the freon can and decided to start the car. Instead of climbing in and starting the carI pushed the clutch in and fired it up. All of you can guess what happened when I let the clutch out! The next thing I knew I was on my back and the car had driven off the blocks and was digging a hole in the gravel. Luckily the car did not drive itself through the back of the garage and off the hill like the car in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The 55 gallon drum of kerosine and my daughter’s mini van hood stopped the forward progress. At 66 years old I am sore and grateful at the same time. My life is in turmoil right now with my wife going through cancer treatments. Focus focus focus!

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, Andy. BUT you're only human and we make mistakes. I'm also sorry to hear about your wife. Prayers for both of you and I know God will take care of things. Tell you wife Happy Mothers Day.
Damn Andy,
Glad you're still with us.
Awful to hear about your wife.
My brother in law is fighting leukemia and staying at our house because of the proximity of the VA hospital. I never really believed how much someone fighting it mentally could have such a positive effect. Obviously I can't tell for sure. But he is 74 and he is fighting back like a mother ****er.
The battle can be won. Please tell her I am pulling for her. Hard.

My Dad told me when I did my 1st oil change that he didn't want to see any less than 2 jacks, the hydraulic jack, and chocked wheels when doing just an oil change (now I ramp it and use chocks). Otherwise I would have been looking for a place to live in by myself; as he would not have any shenanigans. That stuck in my head. Also watched a local high school kid attempt to move his jacked up F-250 by starting it up and operating the pedals and steering from the ground. Fortunately for him nobody was parked in front of his truck AND the sbf didn't have enough torque to jerk it forward and run him over. Those 2 events have me thinking twice about doing such things. Otherwise; I probably would have done that myself.
