Default Here's Why I'm Broke

Hey Guys, I know that I'm always saying I'm broke and probably some of you figure I'm blowing smoke up your butts, but I promise you, I'm not. Right after we moved here, my daughter had blood clots in her left leg that broke loose and moved to both of her lungs. She had to be hospitalized for several days and put on cumadin for treatment. She has had to have 3 blood transfusions, but since the first of December, has been great. They finally have her issues resolved. The hospital bills have not. Insurance hasn't paid diddly and I owe several thousand dollars to the hospital now. The first of December, my wife fell into a coma and I had to take her to the ER. She spent 9 days in the hospital and could have died if not for a brilliant neurologist that was brought in and recognized what was wrong. She had something called NMDA Receptor Encephalopathy. It's pretty damned scary and potentially fatal, if it goes untreated or undiagnosed. She's recovering now, but I have to take her to the doctor every 2 weeks for lab work and testing as now they're looking for tumors or malignancies that may have been the root cause. I can't pay for any of this stuff and it's just a matter of time before the bankruptcy court will be hearing from us. The ironic part here is that you have to PAY to file a bankruptcy! Seriously? Yes, seriously. Anyway, I'm not asking for anyone to feel sorry for us or to help us out financially, as we all have our own problems and issues to deal with in this world. I just want you all to know that I appreciate the prayers and positive thoughts you've all given when I've asked. Here's a link for anyone that may want to read what's happened to my wife. Thanks for listening. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-N...r_encephalitis

That's really rough! Man, when life piles crap onto you it does by a butt-ton! Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Hang in there and it'll get better!

Just remember God is watching over y'all. Y'all will get through this, just keep your head up. Glad that both your daughter and wife are doing better. I'll pray for y'all. Stay safe

Thanks for the prayers, Mandee. I KNOW that God is watching over us. If not for Him, my wife would be dead. And so would I back in 2004, but that's irrelevant to the current thing! God is good all of the time and all of the time, God is good!

Wow, sorry to hear about that. Is there any update to how she's doing this past month?

Wife is still having problems with balance and memory, but she's doing better. Doctor said it could take 6-8 months before she gets back to her "abby normal" self. The Abby Normal comes from me and Young Frankenstein, not the doctor! Thanks for asking.

Any time it happened, I'd get over it
With a little help from all my friends.
Anybody else could see what's wrong with me,
But they walk away and just pretend...

Hang in there man. Give my best to Rea

Dude! How did you know that the Alan Parsons Project is my all time favorite band? I have ALL of their albums or CD's. Even the solo from Eric Woolfson.
