Good info to have

Remarkable!
You have 24 hours from the time stamp on this post to
---post the technical reason why this happens
---post a pic of your SC2 dash @8000 rpm with your shifter in view in the bottom right hand corner
(just so we know you're for real on this)

It's for real I don't have it done In my car ATM my buddy races circle track with a 01sc2 and that's what he has done for more Rpms you have to hook the shifter modual up and put it in second gear and it works idk why but it dose and also Buick lasaber injectors will fit in a Saturn and the dump 2xs as much file as a stock injector I will get pics and videos of everything when I see hi. I read about the auto PCM swap on an S series... it does indeed get rid of the limiter because RPM is limited by what gear the trans is in (it should shift before redline), thus I’d you do this on a manual car you can exceed the normal redline

So then the rev limiting safety features for when the car is below 3 mph and is in neutral are......
----still there because there is an additional criterion involved (vehicle speed >= 3mph) and it's handled by different code in the PCM
---gone because neutral of a 5 spd is not understood by an Auto PCM as anything special (not interpreted as the N of an Auto)?
Chainz: Please note that I never said you were wrong--I only asked you to back up what you posted.
I've been driving S cars since 92 and I have never known of this.
Thank you for the addition of knowledge to our forum.
Bones -- I can't believe you hide stuff like this from me after all these years.......

Yes but if you click the automatic trans gear switcher to2nd gear and hook it up to a manual it will not have a rev limiter we learned this from testing it in my buddy s series dirt track car and yes sorry for taking it the wrong way didn't mean anything disrespectful

I read the auto PCM thing over on 6S, but I also experienced the second gear hold... if you shift an automatic S car into second, it locks out every other gear including first... I guess you could also then exceed the redline.. I used it on my ex’s S car (single cam, auto) to force an early WOT upshift into second at 5k RPM instead of 5500... second gear landed nearer to its torque peak and it shaved 0.1sec off the 0-60 time...
