Default Derf cleans up 97 SC2, Rolls 250K

Just rolled 250K on the 97 SC2

Single Owner Satty (SOS).

And it's never been this clean since it rolled off the lot w me behind the wheel...

The color is Black Gold Metallic; as you can see, it looks different when the sun hits it just right....

Here's a pic that really highlights the gold & metallic:

And lastly, rolling 250K....+ a few tenths...it was either that or pull over onto the half-shoulder and get rear ended....

Just felt like sharing.

As you can see, I do not believe in touchup paint on a daily driver unless it is to protect against rust proliferation or is to mask some severe body damage. In other words, let the road rash tell the story.

I've begun to take more pride in my Satty than I have for about a decade. Had a fun time cleaning it up, which I did not expect.

I've been driving it 18 years and married for 19.

Someone please point me to directions for the front seat swap; I believe my a s s has earned it.

Good looking car. It is amazing what periodic maintenance will do.

Front seat swap is easy, derf. You'll need a star socket for the bolts, however. I used a 3/8 drive ratchet and it only takes about 10 minutes to do the swap. Two bolts in front, two in the back. Slide the seat all the way forward to access the rear ones and then slide it all the way back to access the front ones. Make sure your seat belt isn't still attached to the little slide on the side when you pull the seat out.

Saturn did have some attractive colors on their vehicles. Good luck finding touch-up paint though. I've given up with mine. I give you, Raspberry!

That's a great looking car, cleaned up! As for the seat swap, I believe someone on 6S has swapped seats from an ION into an S series... You know you want Recaros like mine, lol

Rube -- do mean pulling the entire seat + rails, or just the seat.

B.c there is all kinds of spring stuff and I assumed it was attached to the seat bottom AND that the rails are the "reference" for where he springs attach.

Obviously I've not spent 5 seconds looking at it -- just like to know what you're thinking......

Thx

I'm talking about swapping the whole dang seat, derf, tracks and all. It's a lot faster and easier than trying to replace a cushion or seat back. Be careful with those damn front bolts, though. I stripped one and it took me 20 minutes with a pair of vise grips to get that sucker out!

I think that might be cranberry metallic.

Check paint codes on spare tire cover

684H, 73, WA684H, U684H?
