Darwin Awards...And I think we just may have a winner...!
The following attempt at a crime spree in Washington State appeared to be the robber's first (and last), due to his lack of a previous record of violence, and his terminally stupid choices:

1. His target was H&J Leather & Firearms, a gun shop specializing in handguns.

2. The shop was full of customers - firearms customers.

3. To enter the shop, the robber had to step around a marked police car parked at the front door.

4. A uniformed officer was standing at the counter, having coffee before work.

Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up, and fired a few wild shots from a .22 target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, the police officer with a 9mm Glock 17, the clerk with a .50 Desert Eagle, assisted by several customers who also drew their guns, several of whom also fired.

The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons.

No one else was hurt in the exchange of fire.

Ha! Thats great. I heard a few yeares age in Denver some guys were shooting at people from a car with a paintball gun! Well they picked the wrong guy on their last night of fun and he shot one of them dead with a .357, I thought that was appropriate.

It makes you wonder why more places don't encourage firearms.

i believe in atl the crime rate (especially car jacking) is so high that its now a "shoot now as questions later" area. as long as you can prove that you had a legit reason to shoot someone you are fine!

This is a very good story but I'll share one of my favorites and you can compare. It only got honorable mention a few years ago because the person didn't die.

A couple of good ole boys were drinking on their back porch when they saw a skunk going down a sloped drain pipe. the owner of the house decided to teach the skunk a lesson and poured 5 gallons of gas down the pipe. He then started tossing in lit matches.

After a few matches wouldn't set off the gas, he crawled part way down the pipe to get the job done. When it finally lit, it shot him over his house into his front lawn. I remember distinctly that his buddies thought it was really cool because they could hear the doppler shift in his screem as he flew over them.

The guy also said that he would do it again if he was sure that he'd survive the second time.
