Well it couldn't be much worse. My daughter was driving my Saturn until she could get something of her own, and she got broadsided. The other car blew through a stop sign. My daughter got hit on the passenger side. Other than a little bump on the head she is fine. The car got towed. I have to find out what the insurance company is going to do. I might be looking for another Saturn. I hope not.

Thank the Lord your daughter is OK !! Sorry about the "t-bone" to your ride, but it's just a pile of parts, and it did its job protecting her. Start looking in the local papers for another Saturn (60 to 80 k miles old) ... good luck. If ya find out the other driver was DUI, lean on the insurance company hard

I agree with OA. The main thing is that your daughter is safe and sound. Cars can be replaced, kids can't. As far as if the other driver was DUI, good luck with that. It's been 15 months since I got hit head on by a drunk teenager and we still haven't even been to court. No monies from the insurance companies either. Long, drawn out process. I see plenty of Saturns for sale on the Nashville craigslist, but most have well over 100,000 miles. I'd start looking on craigslist where ever you are.

The Daughter is ok all that matters.

If you look at ION's stay away from the 2003-2004 Quad Cpe with the GM VTI tranmission all others are fine. 2006 and 2007 you can look for the 2.4L option in the ION 3 sedan and coupe.

eeek is right.................I happy to hear your little Girl is alright. I'll say my ION's have been better cars over all then my S-Cars, but as stated stay away from the dreaded VTI auto that was in the 03 and 04 cpe.

Thanks guys. It is not official but I hear it is totaled. Well maybe I will end up with a newer one. It gave me very few problems for having so many miles on it. Plus it was good on gas. I still can't figure out why they stopped making such a good car.

The cops are going after the other drivers cell phone records. The other driver was a young boy who just started driving. My daughter saw him clearing the phone before the cops got there. He got a few tickets at the scene.

Craigslist is a good idea to start looking. I'll keep you all posted.

hey, good to hear your daughter is alright. to be honest when i buzzed around in my saturn I always worried what would happen if i had a crash - but I keep hearing that people walk away from most of the acidents in this car (my grandfather walked away from the ones that totaled his last two saturns before I inherited his 3rd)

gonna sound abit like an *** - but if the insurance company releases the car to you if its totaled, but you think I might beable to rip the engine out or maybe buy the wrecked car off you? I live in jersey also and i just dropped my freshly machined block on my foot - and damaged the head side of the block where the gasket meets it and im in abit of a pinch.... plus spare parts are always good to keep handy. just a thought.

glad to hear your daughter is ok again, good luck finding a new one. I was actually scouring craigslist for another block and I think i came across a few low mileage twin cams, so take a look on there (jersey shore craigslist listings)

I think I am getting the run around on this. All I have heard so far is the car is totaled and they are going to pay me for it. I am supposed to know this week how much.

I haven't found a replacement yet. I was waiting to have a check in my hand.

Well Bob ..................... What do you think you'll buy or look for when the check comes? New, used, large, small, or all of the above.
