Well, Guys, as you all know by now, my oldest brother died back on July 16th and that sucked. Now to make matters even suckier, my mother died Thursday night. I spent most of the day yesterday at the funeral home making arrangements and contacting various family members from TN to the west coast. Mom was 101, so had a very long, fruitful life. My wife and I were the ones that took care of her for the past 15 years, so I will miss her very much. Just thought I'd let y'all know, since I consider members here part of my family too. I will still be checking in daily, but will be pretty busy with the estate thing for the next few weeks, so probably won't be contributing much. Thanks for understanding.

Damn it all to hell Charlie .... this crap needs to stop.

 

I'm telling you guys, I'm thinking about just having my suit cleaned and keep it hanging on the back of the bedroom door for a while. We had a very nice service and gave Mom a great send off, so I know she's with my brother now and very happy.

Things just keep getting better and better. One of my best friends just had cancer surgery two weeks ago and called me at 0600 this morning to ask me to please come take her to the emergency room at Vanderbilt. She can't swallow any solid food and was trying to get by on yogurt and water. My wife and I hauled *** to her house and took her. Spent all day there and brought her home. Seems that her esophagus is partially paralyzed on one side from the thyroid surgery. Doc assured her that it will get better. If no improvement by Friday, I'll take her back to him and he'll inject some botox into that muscle to relax it. To top it off, my brother that stands to inherit Moms house showed up on my doorstep after we'd left and woke up my kids around 0800. Wanted to talk to me about why our sister is putting the house into probate! Seriously??? Mom's not in the ground 24 hours and his wife is already wanting to take possession. Talked to my sister that's a lawyer and she's going to make sure they can't touch anything for at least 6 months. Where there's a will, there's a vulture.

 

oh geez Charlie, that's some crap there. I just don't understand some people.
And I hope your friend gets better, that's nothing to mess around with there!
