Car will be built for it.
really depends on which turbo I go with to determine if the car will need to go that far

Anyone that has done timing on an ecotec before, the top bolt is notorious for backing out. This was a gm designed fix for it.

There is a guy that bought out gms surplus and he sells them for 60 each.
Dorman is the only ither company that makes them, and I got this for $16 shipped.

That looks like a good addition to a Cloyes kit for my next 2.2l.

Indeed. Along with this kit. I went with the arp ones this time, but a previous motor got the 12.9 and they were solid.
iirc stock is 8.9

So, quick update. Possible change of plans. Buddy may be buying another lsj that needs a bottom end. Worse case I use the saab bottom end for that to get it going quick.
then ill just order new pistons and rods for my other lsj short block.

Good news though, ill have the rest of my parts for my SS this week. Once I have it running 100% it'll either see a 2.6 or 2.7 pulley with a single pass manifold and 6 ports for methanol. Cars been sitting almost 2 years. So typical crap to go with that. Oh. And most importantly it needs paint until I can get new panels. Its terribad. Not gonna focus on this car to much on this forum. Dont need it taking up my saturn build.

Pic of said ugly cobalt ss. It was originally red. I'm thinking silver.

Ummm. Yeah.

You're not living in that dumpster next to the car, are you?

So when you run on methanol, is that 100% methanol?
Do you have any problems with blow-by gases from the methanol getting into the oil and separating because it is not miscible with the oil...or is it not enough to worry about?

Nah. Pic is from the PO.
I am looking for a camper to crash in though for the long nights.

Methonal will be injected into the intake, throttle body, blower, and possibly 4-5 ports post blower. Its basically being used to cool the intake air. Colder air=more power.

Broke the saab motor down. For 177k its ridiculously clean.
Slapping the b207 head on my car for chits and gigs for n/a fun.
may of figured out a way to use off the shelf forgeded rods for $200. I'll post more info later in that.

Some carbon build up. But nothing crazy

Still see some nice cross hatching. Some heat marks too but theyre not bad. Last owner to have it running probably used regular gas instead of premium
