I am the original and only owner of my 2004 Ion 3 Quad Coupe. I bought it in September of 04, two days after the birth of my son who is now 9. It now has 102,000 miles. It was my primary transportation until a year ago when I bought a new car. The Ions have taken it on the chin but let me tell you what a great car this has been. I am now 49 years old and have owned over 50 cars in my life and never held onto a car anywhere near as long as my Ion. Why? Reliable, cheap to run, fun to drive, and it's unique styling still turns heads. My 17 year old daughter just got her driving permit and it will become her main ride when she gets her license. She's been bugging me for it for 5 years now. Oh yes, and I forgot to mention how many times it's been hit by grocery carts, backed into, and crashed into by kids on bikes and skateboards. Any other car would have looked like crumpled piece of aluminum foil by now, but every time she was hit, she'd pop right back like a piece of Tupperware. Gonna m is this car when she dies, but I suspect it's gonna be a while.

Welcome to the forum. Nice story about your Saturn and hopefully your daughter will appreciated it too. Do us a favor and click on the userCP and fill in your information, okay? That way Joe or Rj won't be busting your chops about not doing it.

Hello and welcome to our Staurn Forum. I don't bust the chops of people that join the site and introduce themselves. I only bust the chops of those that sign on thinking we owe them. Those that don't search and read a little. I'm tired of the average pozer on websites. They don't last long here.......

Welcome, I hit 210k nearly trouble free miles with Saturn sl this week ... Bought it new like you.

Original engine, clutch, trans, alternator, starter

Replaced spark plugs & wires because I thought I should at 100k miles.

New water pump and front wheel bearing and EGR ... Only repairs beyond normal maintenance.

Change oil every 3k to 6k ...

A few sets of brakes, tires and batteries.
