Hello All,

My Room Mate and best friend just bought a 99 Saturn 4 door with a 1.9 liter DOHC. Since I'm his official shade tree mechanic I decided to join this forum In hopes of Gaining a better retrospect of the car and learning anything that I might need to know about the Car before I go digging in.

Welcome to the forum. Why would you go digging in unless there's something wrong with the car? The main thing to do is to keep an eye on the oil level. For some reason, the 1.9 seems to use it a lot. I check mine weekly. But, I don't have the DOHC, just the SOCH. If you have questions, this is the place to be.

Well we drove up to up to Mississippi to pick it up and the guy did Warn us about the burning of the oil but after some research It seems to be a pretty normal thing. We changed the oil before we headed back to Florida and I could tell that It needs a new PCV Valve, Valve cover gasket. 2 power windows aren't working, the driver side inside lock switch is broken loose of the door handle and hanging inside the door and the driver side front wheel has a bad wear pattern. I"m pretty excited to get in there and start straightening things out.
