Hello from the Panhandle of Texas

Hello fellow Saturn owners,
I recently joined to see if I could get some help in diagnosing an issue (Click Here). I am currently trying to diagnose it and fix it and hopefully will get on it more this weekend. I have already received some great feedback.

I am an owner of a 2007 Saturn Ion III that I purchased in 03/2012 w/ 75,599 miles on it. I now have over 126,000 on it, as I use this as my commute car.

My average lifetime MPG is 29.94 w/ a high of 33.29 and a low of 26.86. I use aCar for Android (aCar Support and Information) and I recommend it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to the forum man. Post some pictures of the beauty.
I dont want to sound to dumb, but Texas has a pan handle? Are you talking about the west side? Like near new Mexico?

bartelbjones 06-07-2015 07:23 AM

Haha... sorry. I am use to saying it all the time. The Texas panhandle consists of the northernmost twenty+ counties.

And yes, New Mexico Borders to the West, Oklahoma to the north and east.

You got me thinking, goaliemo... I had no idea why it is called pan handle.

How North Texas Got Its Name

Why is North Texas called North Texas ?

The answer to this question is shrouded in mystery, confusion, and paradox and seems to go back so far into the history of Texas that it has been all but forgotten. It is confusing and paradoxical because common sense would seem to dictate that the most northern part of Texas would be called, or at least be included in, North Texas. The most northern area, however, is actually too far north to be called North Texas and is called the Panhandle instead because of its close proximity to the "panhandle" of Oklahoma.

That's pretty interesting. I learned something new today.
well, being youre closer to Oklahoma, are you gonna go race street outlaws?

You watch Street Outlaws too, Billy? I love that show. I'd love to have the money those guys piss away on those cars. What does it prove in the long run? Not a damn thing, but I still love watching them. Looks like Daddy Dave has his work cut out for him to get back to #1, doesn't it?
