Default Window Gasket Sealer

Okay, I have a neighbor with a 2016 Ford Fusion and he is having a problem with one of the rear window gaskets coming loose. He's tried Super Glue and a couple of others that he didn't name and asked me what to try. At first I was thinking Black RTV, but now I'm wondering about that. Isn't there a specific type of glue that comes on these things to make them stay put? What do you say, Andy? You're the Ford Guru on this site.

I'm not Andy not even close.

Are you talking about the gasket around the door around the window that seals when the door closes or do you mean a gasket within the window area itself that the window slides between the two flaps of??

I'm not sure which one he was talking about, derf. I'll have to find out this morning. He hit me up via text while I was cooking dinner for me, Re and Lindsay. After dinner, I had to clean up the kitchen and then the debate was on. I thought it was hilarious!

For fixed glass I use urethane, I even used it to glue the old rubber gasketed Rambler windshield in. It is expensive but it is what the oem manufacturers use to hold the glue in windshields. 3M weatherstrip adhesive works well on removable rubber around door openings.

Thanks Andy. Howard was gone all day yesterday, so I'll try to touch base with him today. I certainly appreciate it.
