valve seals 1.9 DOC

Has anyone replaced valve seals on an SL1 1.9 DOC engine ? Any help appreciated as to what's involved. Engine is using oil and I'm assuming that's what the problem is.

Actually, if you have an SL1 vehicle, then you have a SOHC engine not a DOHC.

Go to your local library, and get the shop manual for your year Saturn. It will show you the answers to your question step-by-step ... or you could go to the local Autozone (or similar store) and buy the manual. They really have a great deal of information about your car, even if you don't personally turn the bolts ........

Also - please don't multiple post the same question

oil control rings and valve guide seals are more likely your culprits

Thanx for that response. It's a bit more helpful than that other guy. Are there any "look out for"s that I need to be concerned about? After doing a search, I think this is a fairly straight forward job that I'll try before a teardown.

And no, I will not do the silly thing and buy a Haynes book of trash.
