Hello all,. I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook xr AWD 120045 mi. and I had a transmission issue today, of it not wanting to shift into 3rd gear,. Above 4G rpms so Pulled over and shut it off. Started up and ran fine. Have never had or experienced anything indicating there was a problem before. Got codes, p0700, p0752 ( shift solenoid stuck on A ) p0877 ( trans fluid pressure sensor switch D + E ).. I've been looking around and found a recall of this yr/model for a wave plate that would keep it from shifting into 3rd.. I don't really know where to start..any help would be greatly appreciated. Dump it while you can. Most GM dealers don't want to fool with fixing a Saturn under a warranty claim. They'll tell you it's everything BUT the wave plate problem. And they'll want a LARGE piece of your bank account. If it was mine, I'd get rid of it now.

 

I'll do some checking but I think it was extended coverage of 10 yrs 100K. So that's out of play.

The wave plate issue usually manifests itself as a shift flare from 3rd to 4th and 5th to 6th, and often a loss of reverse.

If it is 35R waveplate issue, it's a complete transmission teardown to get to the bad waveplate.

I don't remember if I got any codes. Type just the codes into Google. If results come back 35R, sell it ASAP unless you want to rebuild your transmission and drive it into the ground

 

Was a solenoid and pessupre sensor. Costed like 330$.
