I was hoping maybe you all would have some suggestions/insight for me. I have a '99 SW1 that I let my friend borrow. While in his possession, he runs off the road causing enough damage to warrant not fixing it. However, my wife and I have always liked the car and want to buy a SL1 or 2 in the same style. This way I can keep the wagon and use it for spare parts. Does anyone know what year models I should narrow my search down to? I want to make sure the engine is compatible as well. The wagon has a 4cylinder. Any help would be appreciated.

 

96-99 all look the same
00-02 look almost the same as 96-99

just remember that the DOHCs (SL2/SC2/SW2) are not the same as the SOHCs (SC1/SL1/SW1), so if you opt for a DOHC, some of the 99SW1 will not be able to be used as spare parts for the DOHC...
