Starting problems
#1
I have a 92 4 cylinder dual over head cam 4 speed. It''s a coup, not sure if cl sl or what lol. I am having troubles starting my car after work. It starts fine in the mornings but when I get in after work it has troubles starting. I do the regular, clutch gas and ignite. It turns over and acts like it''s hitting but then it just turns over and hits when i pump the gas. I can smell the gas and everything, just not sure whats wrong. Any help?

The engine coolant temp sensor is the one on the resevior? I''m new to the saturn world as it''s obvious. I figured I''d take the EGR valve off and give it a good cleaning and give it a tune up, I will try that sensor you''re talking about. Thank ya muchly!

Just re-read your post.
Addl tip: Don''t hit the gasyou''re probably flooding it.
Clear the flooding by holding the pedal to the floor for five seconds while cranking. Then start without foot on the gas.
Still need to change the ECTS.

Answered your other post. The IAT and ECTS are identical to each other (as far as temp sensors go) but they mount in different places and monitor temps of different things.
The IAT mounts in the air intake tube and monitors incoming air temp (see other post); the ECTS mounts in the cylinder head and monitors coolant temp.
Yes the SOHC''s have them.Edited by: derf
