Default New hood

The hood on my SL2 looks like it may have blistered under the sun awhile back - and whoever owned it before me decided to sand it down and maybe repaint it. Can't really tell, but it is definitely different, off color and crappy looking.

Was at Pick-and-Pull the other day getting a sun visor and looking at other parts I may want to replace - when I saw the same color car as mine. It's hood is nice and shiny. When I asked the price it was $49.00. I'm thinking of getting this to replace mine.

Is it just those 4 bolts that hold the hood on? If so, I think I'll do this. Would make the car so much nicer. And for $50 I figure it's a great deal.

Anything I need to look out for on this? I'll double check the year and model to be sure before I buy.

Weigh the options ... the price of the hood at the U-PULL-IT shoppe, against the cost of having your existing hood sanded, prepped, painted and overcoated. Hmmmm

Personally, I'd be reaching for my tools.

The Chilton Repair Manual for your SL2 has a really nice set of instructions, with pictures even. Manual available at AutoZone, O'Rileys, PepBoys, and other auto repair parts houses --> about $25

The answer to your question is yes. It's just the four bolts. Take a helper along with you and have one to help you put the new one on.

What year is your SL ? ..... If you would have gone into the USER CP opened "signature" and added your first name, location, and "car info" no one would have to ask. The reason I'm asking is, I could tell you what years would interchange 100%, thats if your not sure.

Please go to USER CP top left of most pages and open "signature" and add your first name, location, and cat information such as year make and model.

1996-1999 SW and SL use the same hoods.
