I have a 95 limited edition sc2 automatic in need of an engine and transmission and am trying to drop a 96 sc2engine,trans,into it.Since they are essentially the same car,(both have auto, both are dohc how easy is this conversion. How would you do it?

Ive been told about dropping the 96 motor and struts and everying to the ground and then put my 95 car over it.Is this easier?

There was never a 1995 limited edition SC2.

You can drop the engine/tranny combo into the rngine bay from the top. You can do it from the bottom is you have access to a vehicle lift. But at home, its much easier from the top.

Make sure you transfer over the 1995''s original sensors onto the 1996 engine. You also need to drill and tap a hole for the second temperature sensor. 1991-1995 had two, 1996-2002 had only one. Easiest place is on the neck of the coolant outlet in the head. See pic below.
