Wondering, I have two SC-2's, and apparently some bad luck. I have a 1993 Sc2 Twin Cam 1.9L, with a bad engine, Automatic tranny, and a 1998 sc2 DOCH 1.9L engine, also Auto, with a bad tranny. Wondering if it's possible to do an engine swap from the newer car into the older car?Edited by: Ravenxcore

You'll have to put the 1993's head onto the 1998's block. EGR valves are different as well as the head casting which makes it impossible to put the linear EGR valve onto the vacuum EGR head.

yeah I would have to replace the head reguardless, because it's leaking into the compustion chamber... maybe it's time to get a new car...

It wouldnt be much work to make one working car out of the two. I'd do that.

yeah it might not be much work, it's just about finding a good mechanic to do it for a low cost. The dealership tried to tell me it's going to cost me around 7K to replace the pistons and the seals on the 93', without replacingthe blocks or the head gasket.

It also sounds like the dealership was giving you the runaround so they wouldnt have to do the work. How would they replace the the pistons and seals and not replace the headgasket? You have to pull the head off the car to get to those parts.

yeah that's what I said, and when I asked them about it they gave me some BS about "well we usually only break down the pricing in segments, not including the head gasket..." the guy had no idea what he was talking about...
