Dead Saturns calling out
Okay,
So I'm getting things shorted out with regards to what will work with what.
I've decided to "pick up" immobile SL2s, SC2s, and SW2s, as they abound in my part of Kali, and I have a few "seed" parts and sources.
I'm about to embark on a more in-depth set of resurrections.
For starters I aquired a very clean hi-mileage '98 SC2 with a rattling and barely running motor. Checked the compression, 150#s across the board. Pulled the timing cover and could tell it had been apart before, so I don't trust it. I'll just replace with same year DOHC I've located, to avoid complications.
Found 2 more rigs for dirt, '96 SC2, bad compression, '99 SW2 cracked head (I've been hunting for this chassis in particular).
Next up will be the '99 SW2 for which I have a good and correct low mileage engine. After engine exchange in the wagon, I'll replace that bad head with the '98 head onto the '99 block and put that conglomeration into the '96 SC2. By all accounts, that should be doable. And with the correct head per year, straight forward.
In the end I'll end up with 1 serviceable DOHC, if all the bits make spec, that should be a straight fit in '96-'98 rigs.
Am I getting this right? PAX
PS...the spousal units not happy about any of this.

Wish I knew more about the s cars, but I know there are several schematics out there as I have seen em.
Sounds like what I do with Ions. Source out part cars for what I need, and will eventually have what I want to build an le5 big turbo sedan.
Quite an adventure.
