I would like to know in wich month my ion was built.I purchased my new
saturn last week.On left door is
date, but the numbers are 07/06.Which number is for year and which
number is for the month?The model is 2007, but maybe was built in
2006?It is hard to beleive that car was waiting almost a year to be
sold.

IT IS LIKELY THAT YOUR 2007 WAS BUILT IN JULY OF 2006. THEY USUALLY START BUILDING THE NEW YEARS MODEL ABOUT 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE NEW YEAR.

 

The last 6 digits of your VIN would give you a better idea of where it was in the model year run.

 

I already check vin on my car.Number 10 means year the car was made, or maybe model year.Last six digits I could not decode.

 

The last 6 digits are the sequencial numbers of each unit as it rolled off the assembly line starting with 100001. Contact your dealer and ask him for a copy of the invoice. I doubt your car waited a year to be sold.Edited by: MINICooperS

 

The car waited a year to be sold...........the date on the door IS the build date.
