Thanks Mike ... this really helps me out.

Next dilemma, can anybody tell me if the SOHC and DOHC engines are interchangable with the auto trans and or manual trans for these years?

Will my SOHC replace and blown DOHC without overly complicating things?

Or should I ideally look for a direct swap SOHC for a SOHC?

Thanking all in advance, Irv

A manual or auto from a DOHC equipped car should only be used on another DOHC. Same goes for SOHC.

So if you want to put a DOHC in your SL1, you''ll need the DOHC transmission for the same year as your car.
