Im considering purchasing a used saturn. i have owned the 93 sl2 before and it is a great vehicle. i found one dirt cheap but the owner that posted this described this problem....

* It starts and drives(very slowly) because the transmission is not engaging right and the engine light is coming on. *

a clutch? flywheel? or the entire trans?

Could be something as simple as stretched shift cables.

I think you changed the filter on the valve
body. If you weren't having trouble before you changed everything, suspect the
o ring on the filter inlet side or a lack of one.

It is better to take your car to a pro. You
will damage your transmission if you keep driving it.

Could be the chrome muffler bearing, but you'll need a left handed monkey wrench to remove it.

i test drove a 91 honda prelude once that had serious problems in 2nd and 4th, and would not even go into reverse, the girl spent over $1000 to have the clutch replaced and then started to have the problems, turns out the place that did it damdaged the shifter cables.

and replaceing the trans (if you have the mechanical ability) is not that bad as long as your carefull not to damage any of the sensetive parts of the clutch system. i bought my 95 sl1 for $125 because the trans was bad (the final drive pin was broken) and replaced it myself for $75.
