My mom has a 95 Saturn SL2, auto, and the other day she was driving along and the power to everything died (all went off). She pulled off the road, and the car started back up. She drove a couple miles again, and it did the same thing. She was able to get home after that time. (Mother's Day..lol)

I am really not sure what could cause the sudden loss of power. She also said that it seemed to delay-shift before the problem. I believe she had transmission sensor? replaced like a week ago- the guy thought that might of been the problem before, and the car did work until yesterday.

Could it be the Crank Position Sensor and the ECTS? I know I replaced the damn ECTS like 2yrs ago. Does the ECTS control the fan and the a/c? I looked at a lot of different topics on here, and came to that conclusion, but wanted to know from the experts

I gave the car a tune-up like 2wks ago, and I know I did everything ok (I only buy Saturn's), so I am 99% sure that is not the problem- alter/battery/fuses/relays all seem good.

{ The radiator fan and a/c went out (had to hot-wire to make the fan work when the car gets hot) and relays all look good.- this was last summer when I had to hot-wire the fan (how trashy- but works). }

Thanks for your help! I am going to tackle going over everything again tomorrow.Edited by: sw2cam

Check for corrosion inside the positive battery cable.
