i am looking for some acurate info on an engine change project i am taking on. this is it, i had a 92 sc2 w250k, ran great but used oil, got 40+ on the highway. i smashed it and got a 93 sc2. i want to rebuild the 92 motor and put it in the 93.i took apart the 92 and it looks good for a rebuild inside. i have heard alot of talk of the reluctor ring on the crank being different from 92 to 93 and throwing the timing way out. can anyone tell me if this is true, and if in fact i can or can not use the 92 motor in the 93. any info will be helpful. thanks anyone

Yes the cranks are different.
Check your ecm connectors first. If they match...try a brain transplant

Steve

Sorry I took so long getting back to you.
You have two choices: Get a 92 crank and install it in the 93
Or take the chance and splice the connectors to install your PCM

As near</span> as I can tell the control architecture is the same, just different connectors.
If you do decide to splice. Check a few various points at the pcm on both units to ensure they go to the same sensor. Definitely check the injectors, Crank position sensor, and the throttle position sensor.

LUCK
