My Vue(4cyl) has sluggish acceleration at times. I press the pedal to the floor and it barley goes. After 5- 10 secs, the acceleration picks up and everything is fine. I have had it checked a couple of times, but the mechanics say there is nothing wrong. Have any of you heard of this before, or have any idea what it might be?

Does this occur as you are turning the vehicle, or driving straight down the road?

 

I have only noticed it while driving straight.

 

these cars have what's called adaptive driving systems. they are constantly trying to adapt things like throttle response and such to the habits of the driver,

Try keeping it off the floor -- you're probably confusing the hell out of it.
Instead, put your foot into it firmly from stops and when changing gears. It should re learn your habits.
