Default 2004 l300 a/c problem

Can't find a leak in a 2004 L300 (v6). Freon empties in about a day. Put dye in the system without finding any leaks. System does get very cold immediately after re-charging.
Anybody have any common spots they have found leaks? Hoping it's not the evap. I did look under the dash and checked the drain tube water for dye.
HELP! This is a pain.

Wow! Empties in a day - that's a significant leak. Since you find no dye in the evaporator coil, I'd look at the condensing coil fittings up by the radiator. I fully agree with sw2cam -- a sniffer would be like totally helpful in finding where your charge is going .......

Do the sniffer's work a lot better than the dye/black light?

I meant I can't really check the evap without tearing the dash apart. If it is the evap though is it worth it...

pain in the butt!

Frankly, I don't use a black light at all to check for leaks - the sniffer is the way to go
