I left my lights on and had to jump my car. When I pulled out I had no power steering, no gauges on the dash worked, and the rear wiper didn''t work. I got about 15 miles down the road and the car died. I tried to start it numerous times(about 20). It would run for about five seconds and then shut off. If I started it with the gas pedal on the floor it would rev up and then shut off. Any Ideas? 2.2LManual

 

Sounds like an alternator to me. Or just a bad connection on the battery

 

sounds like a bad bcm. try unhooking battery for a few seconds and try it

 

I had the battery disconnected to remove alternator. None of the parts stores could test the alternator because of the way it mounts. The one store with right mount didn''t have the right wiring adaptor. I think I might get a used alternator from the salvage yard and try it.IVI4- I did hook the alternator and battery back up still same problem. Appreciate the help. Any more ideas?

 

I got an alternator from the salvage yard today and installed it. Jumped it with the wifes car. Started right up. Runs fine , but still no power steering, gauges, or a/c. dropped it off at the dealership. Thanks for the help

 

Ended up being the computer. $520 later I am back on the road.
