when i turn key on all instrument panel lights come on,after a couple seconds they all go out,,hear a click that sounds like it is in dash when this happens,,about 4 seconds later water and battery lights come back on,,when turn key to start,hear the cick again,,all power is lost momentarily,car will not start,what may be causing this?car is automatic trans

 

I am assuming that you have already checked the battery (know it to be good), and have made sure the ground cable from the battery to the chassis is not internally corroded/defective -- right?

 

yes,checked battery and cables,also nuetral switch,, after turning key on ,hear click and all dash panel lights go out

 

the click i talking about seems to be coming from inside dash,passenger side

 

i tend to think this is still a battery issue, as the clicking may be some relay in the dash IPJB that is chattering b/c it is losing voltage when you turn the key to start the car.

Can the car be jump started? IF so, can the car be restarted after being jumped and running a bit (to charge your batt)?
