Default 1998 SL2 won't start but

if put it gear and move it a little it will start. I have replaced crank shaft sensor and the IAC a few months ago. SO could it be the starter or transaxle range switch? ever couple months it need a car payment.

Are you saying the starter wont turn? Is that the original starter? What does the car payment have to do with it?

A $138 dollar car payment or a $672 car payment? Are you saying it only starts when you roll the car and drop the clutch? Does it turn over as in does the starter function and turn the engine?

Default sorry just a joke on the payment thing

I have 171k on a auto 1998 sl2. So no not a clutch thing. I'm thinking transaxle range switch or neutral start switch has any one had the same issue. When the IAC started going i brought it to a place that no idea what was wrong cuz no codes and charged me for it sad. I told them a can replace parts if there is a code too. I found this site and fixed it right away.

I didn't ask you if it had a bad clutch. Two people asked you specific questions and you failed to answer, yet you want help?

Okay I’ll start over and try and be as clear as possible
The car is an 1998 SL2 automatic, with 171,000 miles on it.
When it’s in park and I try and start the car. Nothing happens. The starter doesn’t even try to engage (no clicks or buzzing can be heard). The lights and gauges on the dash come on normaly, as well as head lights (so it not appearing as though the battery is dead). I have found that if I put the car in D (drive) and physically move it (by pushing it) and then put back into park, I can get it to start (almost every time). That’s why I’m leaning towards the transaxle range switch, or neutral start switch.
