Default 1991 SL1 AC Blowing Hot Air

My daugthers car air conditioner is blowing hot air. The compressor clutch is engaged and the compressor is turning. I'm thinking the compressor is shot.

This car has the freon 12 system and I would like to upgrade to freon 34. Does anyone know if there is a conversion kit. Or should I try to find a newer model that has a freon 34 compressor. At what year did Saturn start using Freon 34?

R-134 was started in 1995 models (I think). To the best of my knowledge, you cannot legally repair/recharge an R-12 system -- it must be converted to HFC-134a. Probably best to have a professional do this .....

Must have been at least 96 as my 95 has the R-12. Compressor may not be shot, but since you can't legally just refill with R12 and wouldn't anyway if you suspect a leak, sounds like conversion time. I'm also looking to convert mine but have not priced it out. Definitely on the "let a professional with the right equipment" list.
