Does anyone know if a V6 VUE engine would fit in an '06 ION2?

Yup.

It's a bolt-in!
Honda built V-6's are universal bolt-ins for all GM subcompacts!

I routinely run in the high 9's with my VUE V6-powered Ion Redline. It took some "persuading" to get the supercharger to fit, and there's some extra pieces left over (looks like a fan/tube thingy), but never underestimate the seemingly limitless array of solutions made possible by arc welding....

Make sure you tighten the main bolt after the swap or it'll fall out.

Derf, nice job! Hmm, interesting too. I didn't think it would.

Also, a little side note... that V6 isn't ALWAYS built by Honda... GM has the rights (and actually does) build that same engine. So it's Honda engineered, GM build.
