Sell me a twin cam???
#1
I have a 93 SC1 that I wanna do the twin cam swap with but I''m having a hard time finding somewhere to get a motor. I could get one from pull a part for under $130 but I don''t wanna put it in and find out that its blown. Anybody out there got an extra engine just laying around? (preferably with a 5 speed ECU with it too lol)Apparently it can be all the way up to a 2002 model S series so anything up to there goes. Thanks

$130 isnt bad for a DOHC engine.
True you can use up to a 2002. But modifications will need to be done.
Only a 1993-1994 will drop right in. You''ll also need the exhaust manifold and downpipe, instrument cluster, throttle cable, fuel pump. A/C brackets, P/S bracket and a 1993 DOHC PCM with the same options as your car.

Yeah I knew all of that had to be done. I can just pull all of that sh*t off and leave it attatched to the motor so I only have to pay the 130 lol. Pull a part is super cheap though so it won''t be that hard to get the money. Plus i''ll get the thirty dollar core charge back from the single cam motor unless someone wants to buy it from me. Its all good but the head is crappy. Needs to be machined
