Default 2009 Aura balancer bolt torque

Gents; Changing the timing chain on my boy's Aura with the 2.2 engine. I did this 10 years ago on my other boy's 2.2 Malibu and don't remember this being too much of a problem. I'm 73 years old now and this procedure is horrible.....getting up and down from the cold concrete floor and stretching my arms to get at bolts is kicking my u know what! Anyway, I digress. Getting to the end of this fun experience and need to torque the harmonic balancer torque to yield bolt and cannot remember the procedure. Is it 63 foot pounds and 120 degrees of turn after that? Also, I seem to remember wedging a crowbar into the balancer then resting it on the floor to stop the balancer from turning. Can any of you gents give me a hand with this? Thanks my friends. .

I believe the Aura has the same engine as the Ion. For the Ion 2.2, 2003-2007, crankshaft bolt is 74 ft/lb plus 125°. There is apparently a tool to hold the harmonic balancer while you do this, but I suspect that any way that will keep it from turning is okay.

I thought that was a different exotic flavor of the 2.2 in the aura. May want to check.

And make your boy change his own damn timing chains!

Derf; The balancer bolt is done ....thank goodness. As for your suggestion to make the boys work on their cars, tried that many times. They were totally uninterested and played games on their I Pod or cell phone while I was sweating under their car. Getting to the point where I'm not able to work on their cars anymore. Boy are they in for a shock when they have to go to a shop for repairs! Thanks, Derf
